Game & Ranch

We specialize in providing our hunters the chance to harvest true trophy animals of many species. Las Lajas is home to numerous species of native game including whitetail deer, javelina, feral hogs, dove, quail, predators (bobcats, coyotes & badgers) and varmits (raccoons, rabbits & dangerous, man-eating ground squirrels). Our exotic game consists of Aoudad, Axis Deer, Blackbuck Antelope, and Texas Dall, Mouflon and Barbados rams. We are also extremely proud of our magnificent Gold Medal Fallow Deer and Red Stags.

With no cattle on the property (except for Fernando, our pet Brahma bull), this is a hunting-only ranch. The landscape is filled with all of the important brush species that produces huge South Texas deer and healthy game stock. To ensure good nutrition, we also provide supplemental feed with year-round high protein pellets, spring food plots and fall forage plots. The rugged terrain is rolling brush country that ranges from medium to heavy which provides the game great cover and challenging hunts that appeal to the true hunter. Even within the perimeter game fence, the hunts are fair chase. There are no cross game-fences to keep the animals contained in small kill pastures. This is the genuine deal, not a canned hunt.

We chose to divide Las Lajas into two sections, one high-fenced and one low-fenced, to give our guests the option of pursuing free-ranging game or concentrating on our special exotic section for their hunt. To ensure ample opportunity for our hunters, the ranch has 20 elevated box blinds, 18 tripod stands and 6 ground blinds strategically placed on senderos near corn feeders and food plots or by heavily traveled game routes. We guarantee, however, that our wild game will test your skills. Your trophy will be well earned.
